LPNs have been established for the protection of rare, endangered species of game and wildlife species, and their habitats, for the purpose of implementation of a number of public functions and scientific research in the field of management of game and certain of the protected wildlife species, and their habitats.

At the LPNs, we respect traditional forms of hunting and offer an authentic experience of wildlife in one of the best-preserved natural environments in Slovenia (from high mountain areas to lowlands), where hunting is professionally, sustainably, and legally organized. An amendment to the Wildlife and Hunting Act was adopted this year, on the basis of which four additional regulations were enacted in October 2025. The Rules on Permits for Hunting Guests (Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia, No. 86/25) were also adopted. These rules regulate and introduce the issuance of permits for hunting guests and will enter into force on 1 January 2026.
