In the special purpose state hunting grounds a hunting guest can decide between different ways of hunting brown hare. The method of hunting brown hare depends mainly on the tradition of the hunting ground, on the season, weather, part of the day, etc. The brown hare hunting can be organized as individual hunting, while in the lowland hunting grounds it is carried out mainly as hunting in group.
Brown hare is usually hunted in small forests between the farmlands and the appropriately overgrown agricultural land. In case of group hunting of brown hare, the hunting guests usually decide for brackade hunting. This means that brown hare hunting is done with the help of dogs looking for hares in an open field, or in small forests, using the noise to scare the brown hare toward the hunters.

Hunting guests can hunt brown hare in all the special purpose state hunting grounds, however, by far the most successful hunting takes place in the LPN Fazan Beltinci. There, we most frequently carry out hunting with trained setters which seek for brown hare and reveal their presence to the hunting guest or the guide with a firm stance, a sort of crouch or “set”.
Hunting is performed by professional hunters who know the movements of brown hare in the hunting grounds.
